It has been very evident that boxing Philippines fighters have become very dominant in the said sport over the last few years.

Manny Pacquiao, obviously, leads the pack of not only the Philippine boxing fighters, but in the whole world as well. He has been able to establish himself as one of the best boxers of all time by capturing eight world titles in eight different divisions, a feat that nobody else has been able to accomplish and nobody else has come close. He singlehandedly made the boxing Philippines scene a place to see as he trail blazed the path for other boxers to achieve excellence.

Boxing in the Philippines, of course, has always been big before Pacquiao. During the 90s, boxers like Luisito Espinosa (two division world champion) and Gerry Peñalosa (world super flyweight champion in multiple occasions) have been able to make names for themselves by winning world titles in their respective divisions. Pacquiao was still considered very green during those times but has been making noise already.

Today, boxing in the Philippines has gotten even more mainstream attention than it used to because of other champions that the country has produced. Nonito Donaire Jr is currently a three division world champion, being able to capture five world titles in three different weight classes.
